Secure backup

A backup is used to protect you against disasters - everything from ransomware, sabotage, fire or water leaks. In the event of an attack or physical disaster, it's not just your data that's at risk, but your entire business.

Backup as a Service ensures continuous protection of the data you store in data rooms or cloud services.

How does secure backup work?

Secure backup gives you daily backup of physical or virtual servers and PCs. The backup takes place automatically and is monitored by our operations staff - both if you choose a local backup or with an operations provider.

If you need to restore, this can be done to both physical and virtual machines. Recovery can take place all the way down to table level for SQL databases, and individual emails, files, etc.

With the Rubrik backup system, we monitor, analyze and manage security incidents at our customers' sites. To do this, we use an orchestration tool that automatically collects data from the systems the customer uses 24/7.

If the tool detects a suspicious activity, the alarm goes off. Secure backup is part of this tool, which means that if a backup fails, the alarm goes off in the tool.

An up-to-date backup of computer systems (i.e. both software and data) must be stored on an isolated system to protect against intentional and unintentional deletion, tampering and reading. Also verify that it is possible to read back the backup and restart the system from it.

The golden rule of backup is 3-2-1; 3 copies of your data, on 2 different media and 1 copy at another location. With Immutable S3 archiving to our data center, you get "off site" archiving on Norwegian soil.

It's very easy to get started with remote storage (S3). As a customer, all you need is a URL and an access key, and you're up and running.
